Code of Conduct

  1. 1

    Player Conduct & Sportsmanship

Players are expected to show respect toward coaches, teammates, opponents, and officials at all times. Poor sportsmanship — including taunting, arguing, or disrespectful language and gestures — will not be tolerated. Compete hard while maintaining integrity.

  2. 2

    Respect for Facilities

The facility is a shared space. There is to be no littering, and bench areas must be cleaned after every game. Do not damage equipment, walls, or property. Players are to remain in designated areas or the bleachers unless they are playing. The stage area is completely off-limits.

  3. 3

    Zero Tolerance: Bullying & Misconduct

There is zero tolerance for bullying, intimidation, or harassment of any kind — physical, verbal, or social. Incidents may result in suspension or removal from the tournament, and fees will be forfeited.

  4. 4

    Behavior of Spectators & Parents

Spectators and parents are expected to model respectful and positive behavior. There is to be no coaching from the sidelines, arguing with referees, or confronting players and coaches. Disruptive or aggressive behavior may result in removal from the facility.

  5. 5

    Conflict & Emotional Control

Players must manage their emotions appropriately. Fighting, aggressive outbursts, or intentional physical harm will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the game and further discipline.

  6. 6

    Punctuality & Commitment

Players should arrive 30–45 minutes before all games. Consistent attendance is expected.

  7. 7

    Team Identity & Uniforms

Represent your team with pride. Players are to be uniformed as best as possible, and uniforms should be numbered.

  8. 8

    Coaching Standards

Coaches are expected to foster a positive, developmental environment with emphasis on skill-building, teamwork, and encouragement. Coaches lead by example.

  9. 9

    Game Integrity

Follow the official game rules and respect referee decisions. Disputes are handled through the proper channels, not during gameplay. The goal is fair competition and growth.

  10. 10

    Safety & Well-being

Player safety is the top priority. Injuries must be reported immediately to a coach or tournament official. Players should not participate if injured or unwell.

Tournament Play & Game Format

  • All games are played under FIBA rules, in two halves.
  • 12U: two 14-minute halves.
  • 14U–21U: two 16-minute halves.
  • Running time throughout. The clock stops on timeouts, and in the 2nd half at the 2-minute mark ONLY if a team is within a 10-point margin.

Game Operations

  • A 10-minute grace period is allowed for all team members to be in place before a forfeit may be declared.
  • Each team gets 5 timeouts per game (30 seconds each): 2 in the first half and 3 in the second half. A timeout is lost if unused within the final 2 minutes of the 2nd half.
  • Halftime is 3 minutes.

Player Participation / Eligibility

  • Players must play within their respective division/age: 12U (12 & under), 13U, 14U, 15U, 17U, 19U, 21U.
  • Players play only for their assigned team/club/program — one team only.
  • Players may ONLY play up in an older division, never down (e.g. a 15-year-old can play 15U or 17U, but not 14U or 13U).
  • Any player found in breach will be ELIMINATED from the tournament.
  • Players must compete in regular bracket play to be eligible for the Playoffs or Championship — no player competes in the Playoffs or Championship without having played in Preliminary games.

Uniforms & Team Representation

Official uniforms with assigned numbers must be worn at all times during games. There is no swapping of assigned numbers.

Playoffs & Championship

  • Playoffs: single-elimination format.
  • Championship: single-elimination format.

Code of Conduct & Penalties

  • Coaches must have all player IDs on hand in case of an eligibility protest — players found in breach will be ELIMINATED.
  • Profanity is strictly prohibited during games ($5 fine for breach).
  • Technical fouls: $5 fine.
  • Ejections: $20 fine, which must be paid before reinstatement.
